McKayla Rose Maroney (also known as "Mack Air Maroney") is an American known gymnast. She took home gold medals with her US Olympic gymnastics team and a silver individual medal in the Summer Olympic Games in 2012. Her parents are involved with sports and that led her to begin gymnastics at an early age. She is a specialist in vaulting. She is the sole gymnast to succeed in defending the gold medal she initially won in the 2011 World Championship, and followed by defending it at the 2013 Championship. Her disappointment at receiving the silver medal for vaulting was apparent and she had hoped to earn gold again during her participation in the Rio Olympic Games of 2016. The athlete had to quit gymnastics due to physical injuries and health concerns. Apart from gymnastics, she's also appeared in a couple of TV shows, and is hoping to sing.
